• Orenda Charter School District Scores an A
in 2022 Texas Education Agency Accountability Ratings

(August 15, 2022) GEORGETOWN, TX — Orenda Charter School District earned an A from the Texas Education Agency in the 2022 Accountability Ratings. Only a third of the state’s 1,195 districts achieved this distinction.

“Our scores are nothing short of fantastic. Our ratings reflect the accomplished goals we set out to focus on our student and his or her growth as a learner, both academically and socially,” said Carla Silber, superintendent of Orenda Charter School.

The districts largest school, Gateway College Preparatory, scored a 96 with five distinction designations.  Kingsland School, which will see its first high school graduating class in 2023, jumped two letter grades to a high “B” with two distinctions.  Nolan Creek, a K-6 school in Belton was rated a “C”, a letter grade improvement from the last state report and Gateway Tech, a high school credit recovery school, received an “A”.

“Given a world-wide pandemic that turned education systems upside down, I am so proud of our teachers, aides, campus leaders, and staff who diligently worked to, not only make gains during the past school year, but to make up for learning loss from the prior two years,” Mrs. Silber added.

Texas provides annual academic accountability ratings to its public school districts. The ratings are based on performance on state standardized tests; graduation rates; and college, career, and military readiness outcomes. The ratings examine student achievement, school progress, and whether districts and campuses are closing achievement gaps among various student groups. Individual district and campus data can be found at TXschools.gov.
